Alumni Page

Established in the spring of 2024, the Alumni Page serves as a resource for undergraduate students to connect with post-undergraduate TPH members. In this section, undergraduate students can find information about former TPH members, advice about public health and undergraduate studies at UT Austin, and contact alumni with questions or inquires about post-undergraduate paths.

Class of 2024

Inara Jiwani

Public Health Major, Business Minor, Pre-Health Professions Certificate, Spring 2024

Inara was an active member of TPH for seven semesters! Inara served as the Director of Fundraising from 2021-2023 and President from 2023-2024! Inara will be attending the Long School of Medicine to pursue a M.D. degree!

How has TPH helped you in your public health journey? "Advice from upper classmen in TPH has been so helpful! Also TPH has helped me connect to faculty and be more involved within the TPH major."

Any advice? "Be involved in a couple of things for all 4 years. Really prioritize the quality of your experiences over the quantity. If you are just doing something to add to your resume, don’t do it! It’s a waste of time!! Find something you are interested in and passionate about and go above and beyond. Do a research project, volunteer, or spread awareness about what you are passionate about. It will be much more rewarding."

How has TPH helped you in your public health journey? "TPH helped me realize the extent to which public health really matters and how it is relevant everywhere in the world, in every industry. It’s how I found my place in the field and my career!"

Any advice? "Talk to everyone all the time to learn about opportunities and see what other people are doing- it helps you realize that no one’s path is linear and you will find your place eventually."
